Blessed Aussies
Loki is turing out to be an extrordinary dog!  He is so much like Ash, his mom, yet so unique as well.  We are having a blast!!!  His training is coming along so well, and we will start some formal classes in June, mostly for the socialization, and for some pointers on areas that I really have no clue about.  I never said I was a pro at dog training!!  I am an equine behaviorist!  BIG difference, though I do find there are some basic core concepts that apply to both species.

Loki is so very alert and attentive.  He is constantly at my feet, to the point of constantly tripping me, lol.  Makes it hard to get pictures of him, too.  Also makes it hard to spin on my wheel!  And he loves to catch the spindle when I use it!  Ah well, he's learning it is not quite what he thinks, which is 'what's mine is mine, and what's mom's is mine'.  Sorta, Loki, but I'll have to explain better as you grow.

Speaking of learning, he is quickly picking up how to let me know the stove buzzer is going off.  At just 4 months old, he knows to come find me (which isn't hard since he's always at my feet) lay a paw on me, and take me into the kitchen, sit pretty and wait for his cheese!  Of course, it doesn't always go that smoothly, but he sure comes close!  He also sits, downs, shakes, stays and releases on hand and voice commands.  He almost always comes when called, but needs to be on a leash outside to be guarenteed of that, lol.  After all, he is still a pup!  There's a huge world to be explored!  He's also completelly house broke!  That is so nice, after 4 months of cleaning up poop!  lol  He is also learning to fetch and is doing fairly well with it, if I don't wear him out and get  him bored.

Loki's taken to the raw diet like a champ.  He enjoys a meal of chicken several times a week, whole rabbit (fur and all) once a week and turkey twice a week.  He is thriving, soft and very fit.  No tummy troubles or irregular potty issues, as long as he doesn't steal cat food!!

I'd like to make bi-weekly changes to this page for all of you who want to follow mine and Loki's journey.  I am hoping to do a few things with him, primarily have him be my friend and helper.  I have to admit, I wasn't sure he'd be able to fill him mother's paw prints, but so far, it's like I still have her here with me, with a few extra fun quirks!  LOL.  Even his bark is very similar to Ash's, even though I couldn't really hear it, it has the same tone quality to it that makes it feel so familiar.

Until next time........
My lovely boy.  I have photos of his mom peeking in the grass very similar to the one on the top left.  Brings back memories.
More to come soon!!
