Blessed Garden and Herbs
Well, it's a new year!  I am so anxious to get the garden up to what I have been hoping it could be over the past 3 years.  Being ill hasn't made it easy, and I've had too many other things 'holding over' out there while we were still trying to settle in after moving.  This is the year of getting things DONE!  I hope, lol.  My treatments are actually giving me some energy, and endurance, so I hope to at least putter better than I have been!

Last year was not a great garden year for me, and I didn't get any good pics of what I did grow.  So, enjoy those that were posted here from year before last, for now, and as this season goes on, I'll post them!

I am building 4 more raised beds, maybe 5, in the garden.  I have to make our own dirt for everything, I can't afford to buy topsoil, and our dirt here is rock and clay.  So, all the bunnies I had, helped a lot over the years.  Now the chickens and goats will have to do most of the contributing, but that's still good stuff!  The three main beds I had over the past 3  years have the most divine soil now!
Our roses did beautifully this year.  I miss their scent, but am happy to report I have cuttings growing happily right now, and there will be even more next year!.  I love rose petal tea, but also anxiously await the rose hips from the rugosas each fall.  The bunnies also love a treat from the limbs and spent blooms of our chemical free roses throughout the summer.  We have added a few new varieties this year, and I hope we can continue to add at least one each year.  Dave and I both just LOVE roses.  I hope to have an exclusive heirloom rose garden somday.
I did manage to dry  a lot of herbs this past year.  On the plant list for this year is Comfrey, Mint, Lemon Balm, Horseradish, Sage, Bee Balm, Black Walnut hulls, Nettle, Rasberry leaf, Dandelion, Garlic, Chamomile, Lavender, Rose hips, Yarrow, St. Johns' Wort, Calendula, Wormwood, Hyssop, Feverfew, Marshmallow, Valerian, and a whole bunch more got planted this  year.!  All are grown organically or wildcrafted.
